The Phoenix EDUs are looking for more than just an annual grant.
The scholarship fund is a new initiative that will help help students with the financial burden of attending college in Phoenix.
They say they’ve been “hope scholarship george” since 2017.
The Phoenix fund will provide $100,000 per year to students, up to $20,000 of which will be paid directly to students.
The EDUs is a partnership between Arizona State University, Arizona College of Education and Arizona State Community College, and is funded entirely through donations.
The EDUs will not receive any of the tuition money that is already being paid by colleges.
The funds will instead go to support EDU students and faculty, and the EDUs hopes to encourage them to use their donations to purchase a college education, which could be in the form of tuition scholarships, financial aid, or even loans.
“The hope scholarship is a way for students to get a higher education, and we hope that it will encourage them as they are able to do so, to apply for scholarships, and that they can then purchase their education at the university that they want to go to,” says Amy Nieves, the vice president of the Arizona EDUs.
